FOREVER PEOPLE #1 (DC, 1971) by Jack Kirby. 1st appearance of the Forever People; Superman crossover; 1st full appearance of Darkseid , his 3rd overall. Predates New Gods #1 by 3 weeks; Darkseid saga begins. A gorgeous VG/FN copy with negligible flaws. Bumps to corners & edges; minuscule closed tear at fore-edge. A few tiny stress creases at spine, which shows a slight roll. 3 pairs of pinprick holes indicate 3 extra staples have been added & removed. Two thin lines of red ink bleed from tops of pages to cover at top edge. Tho not quite as glossy as it once was, the mostly white cover is still sharp, bright, & remarkably unblemished. Two small dents near center do not puncture the cover but their impression can be detected faintly on the first couple pages. A slight fold at bottom edge also has echoes on the lower margins of the interior, which is otherwise only slightly tanned, solid, & clean throughout. A very attractive copy of this landmark issue, which kicks off Kirby’s epic Darkseid & New Gods storyline. Displays & reads much better than its condition would indicate.
