They are together on one larger high-quality glossy coated page (approximately 11 5/8″ by 16 5/8″), which contains a hand-written notation (in marker), and has the printer target symbols on it. This is a truly incredible piece, with 2 important pages. Page 35 features Batman, Robin, and Alfred in the Batcave, with flashbacks to Batman’s origin and the death of his mother, as Bruce prepares for The Final Battle between the Caped Crusader and The Man Of Steel! Page 46 is the next-to-last page of the series, and features the iconic moment when Clark is at Bruce’s grave, and discovers Batman is still alive! These stories featured a dark and more realistic approach to comics that had not been seen before. Miller takes Batman into a dark future, where Bruce Wayne has retired due to age, but is forced to once again put the costume on, to save a city that has been overrun by crime and corruption. Featuring a new Robin (a girl for the first time), Batman’s final fight with the Joker, a politically spineless Superman, and more, this is one of the greatest comic book works of all-time, and is seeing renewed interest since the release of the sequel story, The Dark Knight Strikes Again. Story is by Frank Miller, with artwork by FM, Klaus Janson, and Lynn Varley. With original pages rarely surfacing for sale, and those that do commanding upwards of 5 figures, anything used in the production of this landmark work is highly sought after. Please note that this is an authentic piece from the 1980’s, not something made for a later reprint or collection book. We advise buyers to be careful, as there are disreputable sellers tricking many people into believing they are purchasing items that are older and more valuable than what they actually are. Some sellers simply do not state their items are from reprints, while others make very long listings and put a tiny mention about reprints buried deep in the listing, and/or use a hard-to-read font color (like yellow) to prevent buyers from seeing this information.
