World's Finest Comics #6 (Summer 1942, DC) The Metal Man vs Superman, Aquaman
World’s Finest Comics #6 (Summer 1942, DC). The Metal Man vs Superman. Also Aquaman, The Star-Spangled Kid, Zatara! I would say this comic would make good but that is all. The front cover is detached from the contents and has a lot of creases in the heavy paper cover, let me just say the creases are almost everywhere, there is a 1/4 tear at the edge of crease near the middle of the right edge, the spine is split up at the bottom and the torn edge is pulled to the back it is still attached fairly well, could be repaired? , heavy wear up the rest of the spine, a very light pencil notation on the top white strip of the flag. The back cover is wrinkled and creased also, but the front and back covers are still attached well to each other. The contents are light tan, complete and have curled corners and creases at the bottom, no missing pieces. This comic has been read many times, must have been a favorite. We take multiple photos and concentrate on damaged spots. We are glad to send additional photos. We will wait up to a week to combine more for you if requested. Please pay within three days. All comics start at 99 cents with no reserve. Follow me on E bay for golden age comics. And check the other golden age comics I have on now. These comics were all owned by one boy who collected them in the late 1940s and early 1950s. He lived in the same home all his life and kept the comics in stacks in a storage room. Some have sun shadows from being exposed to light across one edge, some do not. We are trying our best to describe each one fully in the listing. Comics are mailed in a plastic sleeve with a backer board; placed inside a hard, cardboard calumet. We will not mark international orders as gifts or put a reduced value on them. This is a great copy of the super rare SUPERMAN #5, 1940 Summer Issue, 4th appearance of Lex Luthor. It’s complete except for the following problem… At some point tried to do some home restoration and very neatly cut out superman’s head from a panel inside the book (see pictures) and tape it onto the head on the cover. And also, there’s a coupon that’s been ripped off the lower part of the back cover. And, at some point, someone put some tape on the spine. Other than that, all the pages are there and nothing else missing. The pages are pretty old and fragile, but the colors still look vibrant to my eye for a comic that is over 75 years old! There is no other restoration, other than the things mentioned, that I know of… This is a great classic rare superman comic from the Golden Age. Stories in this issue include “The Slot Machine Racket”, Campaign against the Planet”, “Luthor’s Incense Menace” “The Wonder Drug Racket and there are ads for Batman #1 and All-Star Comics #1. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!! The item “Superman #5 (Summer 1940, DC)! 4th Lex Luthor! RARE KEY! 99 cent auction NR” is in sale since Wednesday, March 02, 2016.
