Action Comics #1 First Appearance Of Superman Universal Unrestored Holy Grail
There is no comic book more highly regarded than this one… It it the undisputed king of the Grails. It features the first appearance of Superman, including his origin story of being sent to earth from a dying planet. Moreover, this is the first Super Hero comic book ever and many consider this book started the Golden Age. A world record sale for a comic was set with this very book in it’s best grade 9.0, making it the most valuable book in existence. There are believed to be somewhere in the ballpark of 50-100 copies of Action Comics #1 and only 40 of those in the CGC Census are unrestored. This book, less the cover, is otherwise complete and is very presentable with cream to off-white pages. Though less the cover, it’s almost another comic within a comic showing the transformation of Kal-El to Superman all through the first page slab. Keep as is, or if you’re able to find a cover you now have yourself a quarter million on up book in today’s market. DC Comics Presents 22 Whitman variant key Holy grail of RARE NICE SHAPE
According to many sources including several write-ups in Overstreet, is one of the rarest comics from the bronze age or beyond. And the rarest of the june 1980 whitman variants. Only around 10 or so copies are believed to exist. I peg this one at a 7.5. But please don’t take my word. Please judge for yourself from all the pics. Front cover: Slightest of folds on the front cover but undetectable unless up close. Runs from above the bar code to the “and” in the title. Pressing will easily remove this. Back cover: 2 faint creases on the bottom left and a small scratch at Dr J’s right shoulder. All corners are reasonably sharp without dog ears. Staples are tight No signs of restoration, writing, colouring of any kind, or impressions from writing. Complete with no rips or pieces missing. And no water or moisture damage or funny smell. White pages According to comicbookinvest , no copies surfaced for years that’s until just lately. Feel free to compare it with this one. Feel free to ask questions. Superman Junior Defense League America Poster WWII 1941 22×32 Display Holy Grail
Telling Boys & Girls to join the Superman Defense League of America. These all originally came folded. There’s only 4-5 of these posters known in existence. One of the most sought after of the Superman advertising pieces. For it to be 76 years old and from the World War 2 era, this poster is in incredible shape. The “print” did bleed after all these years while it was folded which is why you see a sort of shadow image on the poster. There are 2 4 tears on the creases as shown, but that’s as far as they go. This would look great professionally framed. There’s 2 of these posters. One advertises bread and the other doesn’t. This one doesn’t. The 2 posters are 1941 and same size. The bread one surfaced and became available for sale last year when a huge Superman collector passed away. Feel free to research it if you’d like.
