Superman Comic Book Lot 1996 Era (Near Mint, Polybagged, Fast Shipping)
This lot includes the following 1996 Superman / DC Comics issues – all in near-mint condition and polybagged for protection. (1987 series) #108-110, 112, 114-118. Superman: The Man of Steel (MOS). Superman: The Man of Tomorrow (MOT). Superman: The Wedding Album (1996 Special). All issues are bagged. Why This Lot Is Valuable – Key Storylines & Milestones. The Big One: Clark Kent & Lois Lane Get Married. The Wedding Album (1996) is a historic one-shot: the long-awaited wedding of Clark Kent (Superman) and Lois Lane. This marks a major milestone in Superman’s comic-book continuity – their relationship finally reaches its long-planned finale. The issue is something of a “who’s who” of Superman history – written by the then-current Superman titles’ main writers and featuring interior art contributions from a huge roster of past and present Superman artists (from Golden/Silver Age veterans to modern-era creators) – a true celebration of decades of Superman comics. For collectors or fans wanting a complete era-defining moment, this single issue alone is a key piece – and you have it included. Solid Coverage of 1996 Superman’s “Triangle Era”. This lot delivers a robust cross-section of the 1996 “Triangle Era” when multiple Superman titles ran in rotating order (Action Comics, Adventures of Superman, Man of Steel, Superman, Man of Tomorrow). For instance, Adventures of Superman #536 (1996) begins the “Identity Crisis” storyline, where the villain Brainiac manages to swap Superman’s mind into another body – a wild premise that sees Superman’s identity and mental state challenged in a dramatic psychological twist. Later issues – including Adventures of Superman #537, Action Comics #724, and Superman: The Man of Steel #59 – move beyond that arc into new adventures, culminating (in your lot) with such issues as Action Comics #725, and Superman: The Man of Tomorrow #6 – the series of issues that lead up to and follow the wedding event, making this set both a reading-order chunk and a collectible snapshot of a transitional period in Superman comics. Additionally, Adventures of Superman #541 follows directly from the Wedding Album and continues the after-effects of the wedding – ideal for collectors who want to complete that “big moment + aftermath” arc. Creative Teams & Artistic Significance. The Wedding Album issue is true fan service: written by the major writers of the time – including Dan Jurgens, Karl Kesel, David Michelinie, Louise Simonson, and Roger Stern – and drawn by a huge roster of Superman artists, both old and new, making it a tribute to the character’s long history. Many of the surrounding issues were also penned by major contributors of the time (Michelinie, Kesel, Jurgens, Simonson) and feature significant events like the Brainiac-led Identity Crisis. That gives this collection both narrative importance and artistic variety, which appeals to both readers and collectors. All issues are in Near Mint – excellent for reading or collecting. This makes the lot ideal for both serious collectors and fans who want pristine, ready-to-display copies.

First and foremost this is not something I normally sell. I bought a collection of comic books and several Superman comics were signed by Christopher Reeve. Take a look at what I sell and you will find that it is posters with a few sports card here and there. Do not ask what’s the lowest I will take or I will block you. IF YOU HAVE LITTLE TO NO COMMON SENSE SHOP ELSEWHERE! Signed it looks like blue indelible marker – 1973 original Superman French-Canadian edition Superman comic book #70. The comic book staples have a little rust and the yellowing of the paper from age and has very light discoloring on back cover. Certificate of Authenticity has been provided by ManMobile aka Mobile Authentication Network. COA #004554 and is available for lookup on or about November 17th 2025. I was told by several comic book collectors that this issue is an original based on the paper, the yellowing or light off white pages due to age as well as the type of paper used for cover is consistent with an original. Pictures shown are the comic you will receive. More scans available by request.
