The vast majority are either a diversified mix of silver to modern comics or Marvel Comics. The original owner bought every Superman & Batman related issue he could find at the same 5 & Dime store from 1955 to 1962. He couldn’t wait to get the new issues that hit the newsstand each week. The collection was put away in the early 1960s once he went away to school. The family recently cleaned out the attic and like a time capsule, the collection remained intact for over 50 years. It is rare to find a collection from the 1950s that is from a single owner. The interior pages are generally white and the covers have beautiful colors and gloss in many cases. The 1953 to 1956 period is considered the DC Scarce period where it is not easy to find quality examples of many issues. This collection begins during that period and ends right after the DC Letterbox 12 cent cover price issues. There are many key issues and classic covers in this collection.
