Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #1, 1954, DC. Lower grade Fa/G copy. Primary defect is covers are almost entirely separated at the spine…. Just barely attached to each other at about a 1/2 inch section near mid-spine. Also, back cover is barely attached at top staple otherwise front is detached from staples. Lots of edge wear, chips, small cover pieces out, and small tears. A couple of small edge tears go thru interior pages. Vertical book crease mid-cover. Tape-lift tear in the “Jimmy” of logo. This is an awesome comic from 1992 that includes the first cameo of Doomsday. It is rated 9.8 (Near Mint/Mint) by CGC , and also has the highest quality “White Pages”. According to the CGC census, there are only 307 copies graded 9.8 (and none rated higher). I’m happy to provide any additional info or pics if needed, just message me. I know there is nothing more frustrating than receiving a poorly packaged book that arrives damaged. I make every effort to note noticeable damage to the slabs, but minor imperfections like small scuffs are extremely common straight from CGC/CBCS/PGX. Newton Rings are also extremely common in newly slabbed CGC books (CGC tried to better protect the books by sandwiching them tighter in the cases, but as a result, the majority of newly slabbed books have some degree of rings). If these are important to you, please reach out to me and I’ll be happy to provide more detail on the case. For those unfamiliar with Newton Rings: This is an occasional effect produced by the inner and outer cases being in direct contact with one another. The visual effect is similar to oil on a water puddle because of the two plastics.
