SUPERMAN #285 COVER ART – ALL ORIGINAL. Primary Artist Name: NICK CARDY. Dimensions: The art has an image area of approximately 10″ x 15″. Awesome mid 70’s art. Rare and these hardly come up for sale. Superman is held captive by some ornery vegetation on this fine Nick Cardy cover to Superman #285 (1975). Cardy was one of DC’s main cover artists during the first half of the 1970s and he was very well-suited for the job. Nick Cardy was a wonderful artist who contributed excellent work all of the way from the early Golden Age (he joined the Eisner and Iger Studio in 1940), into the early 21st century. He’s best known for his work on the first 39 issues of the Silver Age Aquaman title, for his work on the original run of Teen Titans and for his key role as one of DC’s premiere cover artists in the early 1970s.
