This listing is for Superman #53, published by D. This 10th anniversary issue includes the origin of Superman retold. According to the CGC census, there are only 271 graded copies. Superman #53 (Jul-Aug 1948, DC) 10th Anniversary Issue! Origin of Superman

Superman #53 (Jul-Aug 1948, DC). Also “A Job for Super Hombre” &. The Oracle from Metropolis! The front cover has darkened and has light shadows at the edges, there is light wear around the edges with a splinter chip on the right edge 4″ from the bottom, the right edge is a little brittle from oxidation, the bottom left corner has a 2″ crease across it, the staples are just beginning to pull and are still pretty tight (handle with care), there are no splits up and down the spine, a little wear at the top. The back cover is dark around the edges and has a 4 crease across the bottom left corner, a small chip at the top left corner. The contents are light tan to tan, complete and in good condition, the first page inside the back cover also has a small chip at the top corner. There is a thumb ruffle across the edge of the interior pages right where the small chip is on the front (see last photo). We take multiple photos and concentrate on damaged spots. We are glad to send additional photos. We will wait up to a week to combine more for you if requested. Please pay within three days. All comics start at 99 cents with no reserve. Follow me on E bay for golden age comics. And check the other golden age comics I have on now. These comics were all owned by one boy who collected them in the late 1940s and early 1950s. He lived in the same home all his life and kept the comics in stacks in a storage room. Some have sun shadows from being exposed to light across one edge, some do not. We are trying our best to describe each one fully in the listing. Comics are mailed in a plastic sleeve with a backer board; placed inside a hard, cardboard calumet.
