Authentic 1940’Supermen Of America Member’ Ring ULTRA-RARE Superman DC Premium Ring. “SUPERMEN OF AMERICA MEMBER” ring; 1940; Issued by DC Comics and promoted in Superman and Action Comics. This ring is exceedingly rare. A total of 1,600 were originally produced in 1940 and issued to Supermen of America club members only. Of the 1,600 produced, there are maybe only 24 known to still exist in the world today. One of the rings appeared on an episode of the TV series PAWN STARS in 2010. The ring was completely roached out and no deal was made. That show probably sent people searching through their attics and basements looking for this rare ring. Amazingly, I found this ring in a jar of old buttons. This was an inexpensively produced ring made as a premium for kids. It was never silver-plated or gold-plated. The ring is made of brass with silver-tone plating. The ring is adjustable. The center of signet-style ring has a brass circle with an image of Superman encircled by the words, “Supermen Of America Member”. To the left is a raised circle meant to be a planet. To the right are two lightning bolts. Measurements: The face of the ring measures 7/16″ x 1/2″. The center circle measures just over 3/8 in diameter. Condition: Originally the ring had a red painted background behind the lettering and on Superman’s’S’. Sadly, the red paint has worn off. Also, the ring is a bit bent out of shape. The front of the ring still has most of its silver-tone plating, but the sides and back of the band as well as the inside have lost much of the plating. There is also a tiny bit of green patina in one spot. When you are wearing the ring, the part that shows is in excellent condition. Please look at all photos and feel free to ask questions.
