# 242 July 1958. CGC 3.5 Off-white pgs. A Very Key Superman story. Origin & 1st app of BRAINIAC. The 1st appearance of the Bottled/shrunken City of Kandor! The Kryptonian city stolen by Brainiac and shrunk in a bottle–this City and its “residents” figure in MUCH of the Superman lore! The artwork is excellent: Curt Swan did great cover art. Check out the other options and then come back to discuss this choice! This copy was Ed’s personal “raw” back-up copy of Action 242; recently graded then we added a reader. We hope the CGC 3.5 copy of ACTION 242 plus its ” reader” copy (Superman Annual 2) will end up with a DC fan who will treasure it in his /her collection for years to come! Ours is the only CGC graded copy of Action Comics #242 that comes with a Reader copy of the Key “intro to Brainiac & Kandor” story.
